Supply Chain · Provenance & compliance · Multi-jurisdiction

Track what moves. Verify who handled it.
Prove it meets the rules.

Global supply chains cross dozens of jurisdictions, each with its own compliance requirements. Counterfeit goods, gray market products, and diversion all involve identity and provenance failures. Essence governs the supply chain as a substrate property — provenance from origin to delivery, TIC workflow authority, physical object identity, multi-jurisdiction compliance — evaluated before the goods release, not investigated after the dispute. The chain of custody is structural, not reconstructed.

01 · The thesis

Every regulated industry has the same missing layer: governance below the application.

Regulation defines the authority chain. Compliance processes document adherence to it. What has never existed — until Essence — is a substrate that enforces the authority chain before an AI agent acts. Logging is not governance. Audit is not enforcement. The substrate evaluates every proposal against the named regulatory authority before execution. The human decides. The record is structural.

Provenance Verification

Chain of custody from origin to delivery, governed in the substrate

Product provenance — where it was made, by whom, under what conditions, with what inputs — is a compliance requirement in pharmaceuticals, electronics, food, and apparel. Essence governs the provenance chain as a substrate record: every transfer, every inspection, every certification — linked, hashed, and auditable without reconstruction.

TIC Workflow Governance

Testing, inspection, and certification authority enforced before shipment

TIC services — product testing, quality inspection, conformity certification — involve authority claims that need to be evaluated against the applicable standard before the goods move. Essence governs the TIC workflow: the test record, the inspection authority, the certification scope — all evaluated before the release certificate surfaces to the shipper.

UnCloak Object Identification

Physical object identity resolved before the transaction clears

Counterfeit goods, gray market products, and diversion all involve identity failures at the physical object level. UnCloak governs physical object identification — manufacturer ID, lot tracking, serialization chain, customs declaration — as a substrate event. The object's identity is resolved before the transaction clears, not investigated after the dispute.

Multi-supplier Compliance

Supplier authority chain across every jurisdiction the goods crossed

Global supply chains cross dozens of jurisdictions, each with its own compliance requirements. Essence governs the multi-supplier compliance chain — CTPAT, FCC, RoHS, REACH, country-of-origin rules — as a substrate property. Every jurisdiction the goods crossed, every compliance requirement applicable to them, evaluated against the authority chain before the shipment releases.

Spec library in active development ahead of the Q3 2026 platform launch. Every Aptiv Spec in this vertical will be grounded in named regulatory text, source-cited, and scoped to detection only. The human authority over consequential decisions is structural — not a policy statement.
