The Universal Key and the Substrate That Answers It
Any home, vault or archive could be entered. The locks were not broken. They were opened. The question is not whether access was possible. The question is whether it was authorized, and whether the owners of what was taken were compensated.

Digital Rights Management (DRM) was designed for a world where the adversary tried to copy the file. It had no answer for an adversary that simply learned from it. DRM governed file access. AI training is not file access. It is pattern extraction from statistical training material. The model ingests the file, learns its underlying structure, and no longer needs the file. The protection was in the file. The model learned past it.
Every major AI developer appears simultaneously as a defendant across every content modality (music, film, news, art, code, books), not because of poor judgment at any individual company, but because the entire paradigm lacked an architectural mechanism to evaluate what could be ingested, under what conditions, from whom, with what provenance anchored at the point of ingestion.
Detection found the violation after the fact. Determination would have governed it before.
The quantum threat runs the same argument one layer deeper. Today's encryption governs data in transit: ciphers that are computationally infeasible to break with current hardware. Quantum adversaries are already operating a strategy called "harvest now, decrypt later": collecting encrypted data today to decrypt once quantum computing matures. The protection is in the cipher. The quantum computer will break the cipher. Every organization storing sensitive encrypted data today is sitting on a time-limited vault. They do not know when the clock expires.
StreamWeave® is the answer to the quantum threat the same way illumin8 is the answer to the AI threat.
